Flutgraben Studio currently houses the Berlin interface of BLACK DOOR ISTANBUL. This address is a continuation of BDI that offers the opportunity to interface with, and accommodate the extending BDI network. Over the coming months we will engage a series of events reflecting upon the 2010 program culminating in a return
to Istanbul in September, one year after the projects initiation.
We also open our facilities / accommodation in both Istanbul and Berlin to the BDI network. Interested parties contact us below. We welcome visitors and are open on an event basis or by appointment.

Black Door Istanbul is a Platform in Karaköy. Better defined, a Platforum.
BDI’s purpose is to accumulate a selection of specific communications. It contains a repository of works, networks and documentation from international artists, critics and persons supportive of the BDI directive within Turkey.
On one hand BDI engages practice, positions and modes which can be ascribed as part of the art operating system. On the other, BDI attempts to observe and moderate the upcoming movements in the fields of socio-cooperative action relative to the current art matrix.
BDI’s programming is without parameter. Exhibition, screening, lecture, performance, and public presentation will all focus toward contact and engagement.
BDI will release what transpires in Karaköy, by way of sequencing reviews, documentation, and publication produced via a self-critical way of initiating an idea.
Black Door Istanbul attempts to be transparent about it´s own circumstances and will manifest as a physical space for an initial three month period.
